I really can’t get my head around this. The BPI’s new website appears to have no rss feed. Does this symbolise why the BPI is struggling to understand what is happening to music, the web and business models?
Update:
Well it took Stef 2 minutes to sort the problem of rss from the site (why didn’t the BPI do this?): http://page2rss.com/page?url=www.bpi.co.uk/category/news-amp3b-press-release.aspx
Can’t find anything – just an email sign-up.
Also, the link to ‘The Wire’ and ‘more news’ in the bottom left-hand corner is busted, in case anyone from there is reading.
It seems to be a classic case of trying to ‘keep’ control of the information. One would expect that perhaps you might want people to subscribe to your news, or PR info. Alas the BPI does not think so.
A quick glance of their Terms & Conditions show boilerplate terms that are pretty irrelevant to their site. At least they allow you to link to their site unlike some local governments policies!
Thanks Chris. Neil you are natch right. I know those sites that insist you can’t link to them without prior permission. They make the BPI look almost 1993.
