Communities of Practice for the Third Sector.

Steve Dale is pleased to report that the Office of the Third sector is to create online Communities of Practice to help Local Government and the Third Sector work together.

To support local authorities and their partners, OTS and IDeA will be establishing an on-line Community of Practice and linking with work of the Government Offices in the regions and Regional Improvement & Efficiency Partnerships. The on-line Community of Practice will allow members to share good practice and ideas, discuss challenges and solutions, and to identify and explore ways of working together.

Video as evidence in community campaigning.

At first I thought this was a bit too long but then realised it has a specific purpose. As the blurb says: “A short film produced for the Edgbaston Constituency on the subject of Post Office closures in the community. The film was designed to be used as supporting evidence and handed to the Post Watch Commission when deciding whether to close the Edgbaston Post Offices. Viewed during during the consultation process, the film gives real people from the local community a voice which is too often lost in paperwork or statistics…”
